I'm headed out to Erick Erickson's The Gathering on Thursday in Atlanta. This event will feature most of the GOP presidential candidates (except the frontrunner, of course) just a few days before the first GOP Presidential Debates to be held on August 23rd.

According to the emails I have received, there will be attendees from nearly every (47?) state. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the mood is across the country for this election in general and Trump in particular.  

I have been really concerned about the state of the Republican party. I feel like the party has been distracted from getting the work done by the constant drama and turmoil of Donald Trump.  I'm personally ready to move on to another generation of leaders but I fully understand I'm in the minority on that position in Tennessee.

I've been working towards launching this site and I figure this trip should give me some good material to work with. I'll try to give some quick updates during the event and write a few articles after I get back and have a little time to reflect.

The Gathering Wishlist

  • Meet Tim Scott
  • Watch Gov DeSantis and see how he handles a crowd in person to answer the question: Robot, AI, Human Being, or Lawyer?  (jk, I like the guy)
  • See if Governor Youngkin has a rested and ready tan.
  • Meet other local officials from across the country.
